Smog - Health Advisory
What to do (and not do) on a smoggy day
While poor air quality affects everyone's health, children, the elderly and individuals with heart and respiratory illnesses are most vulnerable. AQMD recommends the following cautions when the air quality reaches unhealthful limits: When AQMD issues a health advisory, everyone, particularly children and the elderly, should avoid prolonged, vigorous outdoor exercise. Individuals who suffer from heart or lung disease should avoid outdoor activity. When a Stage I Episode is announced, everyone should avoid vigorous outdoor exercise, and those who suffer from heart or lung disease should stay indoors.
